N.Y. Regents Place Moratorium on New or Expanded For-Profit Colleges
The New York State Board of Regents has placed a moratorium on approving applications for new for-profit colleges in the state and for expanding existing ones.
Merryl H. Tisch, a regent, said the board wanted to review how the state can improve its regulation of such institutions and close any loopholes in the process.
