NSF, NASA Budgets Clear Senate Panel
The U.S. Senate Appropriations Committee last week approved legislation that would increase spending at the National Science Foundation by 3 percent and provide $300-million for a mission to keep the Hubble Space Telescope working.
The science foundation's $5.75-billion allocation includes $95-million for plant-genome research in the 2005 fiscal year, an increase of $5-million over the current year, and $27-million for historically black colleges and universities, a $7-million
