NSF Leader Grilled on Computer Research
The director of the National Science Foundation, Rita R. Colwell, faced some skepticism from members of a House of Representatives Appropriations subcommittee this month about the Clinton Administration's proposals to increase spending next year for research on information technology.
President Clinton has requested an additional $140-million for studies to develop faster computers and communications networks
