NIH Releases List of Stem-Cell Colonies Approved for Federal Research

The National Institutes of Health has published its registry of the embryonic-stem-cell colonies approved for studies with federal funds, and the number of colonies on that list is now 72 -- eight more than previously reported in August.

Researchers and lobbyists said they were happy that the long-awaited registry was finally available, because it should encourage more scientists to conduct studies of stem cells, but some were displeased by the lack of details offered by the
