NIH Is Committed to Bias-Free Research

To the Editor:

I am extremely disappointed in the tenor of "NIH Makes No Promises as It Considers Regulations on Financial Conflicts" (The Chronicle online, May 14), which gives the appearance that the National Institutes of Health is not fully committed to examining how it oversees financial conflicts of interest that may be generated as a result of NIH funding.
