NIH Helps Protect Human Subjects
The National Institutes of Health announced this month that it will provide one-time grants of up to $250,000 for as many as 174 research institutions to help them improve their efforts to protect people who volunteer for medical research. The agency said that the 174 eligible institutions account for 90 percent of its total financing for clinical research.
Most of those institutions are universities, and the agency will make $28.5-million available.
