NIH Gives Cautious Approval to Embryonic-Stem-Cell Research
Scientists should proceed with studies on stem cells taken from human embryos and from adult tissue, the National Institutes of Health said in a long-awaited report released last week. The report came as supporters and critics of research on embryonic stem cells clashed at a Senate hearing over whether President Bush should allow federal funds to be used for such studies.
