NIH Delays Financing of Stem-Cell Research
In the Bush administration's most direct intervention yet in the stem-cell debate, the National Institutes of Health has canceled the first meeting of a committee that was to review applications for federal funds from researchers who want to use the embryonic cells.
The cancellation of the meeting, which had been scheduled for last week, was not announced. The N.I.H. moved after officials at the Department of Health and Human Services made the decision to cancel. A new meeting has not
