NCAA's Division I Board of Directors Keeps Football-Playoff Discussion Alive

When Michael F. Adams, president of the University of Georgia, floated the idea last week that postseason play in Division I-A football should take the format of an eight-team playoff, he provided fodder for a great deal of chatter here at the National Collegiate Athletic Association's annual convention.
On Monday afternoon, Mr. Adams, chairman of the NCAA's Executive Committee, got perhaps the best result he could have hoped for.
