NCAA to Develop Another ‘Academic-Progress Rate’—for Coaches

College coaches are a competitive bunch, always mindful of win-loss records and an endless array of other statistics. Now they have yet another ranking to fret over.
In an attempt to hold coaches publicly accountable for the academic success—or failure—of their athletes, the National Collegiate Athletic Association is considering creating an online database linking thousands of coaches with the academic performance of their teams.
