NCAA to Consider Controversial Cuts in Scholarships and Athletic-Staff Sizes

Some of the proposed cuts in major-college football programs, such as the Texas Longhorns, aren't sitting well with athletics officials, who would see staff-size limitations and a reduction of scholarships.
Major-college football and women's basketball programs would see a reduction of scholarships, and athletic departments would face controversial staff-size limitations, under a set of cost-cutting proposals to be considered by the NCAA's Division I Board of Directors, according to an NCAA document obtained by The Chronicle.
The proposals would eliminate five football scholarships for Football Bowl Subdivision programs,
