NCAA Strips Lewis University of 26 Scholarships
Lewis University's sports program will be on probation for four years and will lose more than 26 scholarships as punishment for what the National Collegiate Athletic Association described as a "complete lack of attention through a period of years, from the president of the institution on down, to providing a system of [rules] compliance."
Lewis, a Roman Catholic institution in Illinois, had already forfeited its 2003 men's volleyball title and had banned the team from postseason
