NCAA Places Notre Dame and 2 Other Universities on Probation
The National Collegiate Athletic Association placed the University of Notre Dame on probation last month and levied other penalties for major violations involving a former booster and the football program. This was the first time the N.C.A.A. had found serious problems in the university's storied athletics program.
Also last month, the association's Committee on Infractions put the University of Arkansas at Little Rock on probation for two years and imposed
