NCAA Penalizes Fresno State
The National Collegiate Athletic Association has extended an existing probation for California State University at Fresno for four more years after finding that a former head coach for men's basketball and members of his staff made 457 impermissible telephone calls to recruits.
Fresno State was already serving a four-year probation for academic fraud and ineligible play involving its men's basketball team. According to NCAA officials, coaches were committing the newly penalized
