NCAA Penalizes Baylor U. for Multiple Rules Violations
The National Collegiate Athletic Association has placed Baylor University on probation for five years and barred its men's basketball team from competing in nonconference games for one season.
The penalties, announced in June, followed findings that former members of the basketball team's coaching staff had broken numerous NCAA rules and had made "a protracted attempt" to cover up the violations.
