NCAA Penalizes Alcorn State
The National Collegiate Athletic Association has placed Alcorn State University on probation for three years after finding that the university's head women's basketball coach allowed several ineligible players to travel and practice with the team and to receive impermissible financial aid during the 2001-2, 2002-3, and 2003-4 academic years.
The violations led the NCAA's Division I Committee on Infractions to impose a one-year ban on postseason play by Alcorn State's women's basketball
