NCAA Panel Endorses Relaxed Rules on Amateur Status
College athletes could take out loans based on their future earnings potential, be paid for their performances at the Olympic Games, and earn money for giving lessons beginning next year, under new rules endorsed last month by the National Collegiate Athletic Association's Division I Management Council.
