NCAA Panel Backs Away From Seeking Ban on Freshman Eligibility in Basketball
The National Collegiate Athletic Association's president, Cedric W. Dempsey, stirred up a controversy throughout college sports last month when he told USA Today that the association was strongly considering a ban on basketball players' competing as freshmen.
