NCAA Eases Limits on Gifts to Football Players at Bowl Games
'Twas the night before the bowl game and all through the hotel, not a creature was stirring ... except for football players enjoying their chirping electronic gifts.
Last year the National Collegiate Athletic Association relaxed the rules limiting how much booty bowl officials could bestow on football players. The amount went up by $150 this season, to $500 per player.
The move allowed the bowls to give away more than cheap commemorative watches and rings.
