NCAA Declares Skier Ineligible for Football

A world-class skier will not be allowed to play football for the University of Colorado at Boulder, the National Collegiate Athletic Association ruled in August. The skier, Jeremy Bloom, has been battling the association for the past three years over its ban on athletes who sign endorsement contracts.

Mr. Bloom was the top-ranked moguls skier in the world in 2001 and finished ninth in the event at the 2002 Olympic Games, in Salt Lake City. He matriculated at Colorado in 2002 and became
