NCAA Board Rejects Idea of Creating Outside Group to Push for Reform
The top governing body of the National Collegiate Athletic Association's Division I last month rejected a proposal from a blue-ribbon panel sponsored by the Knight Foundation to create an external group of presidents to enact academic and financial reforms in college sports. At a meeting in Indianapolis, the Division I Board of Directors announced that it would instead form a panel of its own members to look into possible changes.
