N.C. Baptists to Keep Ties to Wake Forest U.

The Baptist State Convention of North Carolina has rejected a proposal to sever nearly all ties with Wake Forest University. Although many Baptists objected to the sale of alcohol on the campus and to a same-sex union ceremony in the university chapel, moderate delegates at the convention's annual meeting said it was important to continue supporting students through scholarships.
