Mystery and Humility in General Education
As the director of a new general-education program at the Roman Catholic university where I teach, I recently spent time introducing our curriculum to a variety of campus constituencies. On two occasions, members of our Board of Trustees asked me how the new courses would contribute to students' religious development and to the university's Catholic identity. I could offer only a stumbling response.
Then last summer, my college's dean offered me the opportunity to attend Collegium.
