An outbreak of mumps at Wheaton College, in Illinois, now amounts to 37 cases, according to today’s Chicago Tribune. Many of the students have returned to class, and all are expected to recover. The outbreak appears to have spread elsewhere in the Chicago suburbs, affecting at least one student as well at Benedictine College, reports the Web site of WMAQ, Chicago’s NBC affiliate.
Meanwhile, a second mumps case has been diagnosed at the University of Virginia, The Daily Progress, a newspaper in Charlottesville, Va., reported.
