Mothers and Fathers Must Be Treated the Same
To the Editor:
Michael Bérubé's fine "Professors Can Be Parents, Too" (The Review, April 12) deals very well with the all-too-prevalent difficulties faced by professor parents and, indeed, working parents everywhere.
He mentions, as good signs, that some institutions have policies that allow female faculty members who have children to have another year on the tenure clock, some institutions are updating maternity-leave policies, and some are even drafting
