Most Researchers Favor NIH Policy That Requires Less Information, Survey Finds
Federal money is the lifeblood of most academic research, so when agencies in Washington change their policies for making grants, scientists often worry and cling to the status quo. But at least for one new policy adopted by the National Institutes of Health six years ago, initial criticism has given way to praise.
The change allowed grant applicants to avoid submitting detailed budgetary information in their grant applications if the direct research costs were at or below $250,000.
