Most Americans Oppose Race-Conscious Admissions Policies, Poll Finds
Americans are all for diversity on college campuses, but they don't believe that race-conscious admissions policies should be used to achieve that goal. In a nationwide survey of 1,003 adults conducted by the Marist College Institute for Public Opinion, 83 percent of white respondents, 76 percent of Latinos, and 60 percent of African-Americans opposed using race as a factor in college admissions.
