More Top Athletics Jobs at Colleges Are Going to Women
By and large, athletics departments are not the most progressive parts of universities when it comes to hiring women.
In 1999, only 17 percent of athletics directors at National Collegiate Athletic Association institutions were women, according to a study by the association (The Chronicle, June 2). In Division I, a paltry 8 percent of athletics directors were women.
