More Teams in 2007 Men's Basketball Tournament Meet Graduation-Rate Goal, but Racial Gap Persists
Teams in this year's NCAA men's basketball tournament have a better history of graduating athletes than previous years' contenders did, but the improvement is not consistent across racial lines.
So said a report released last week by the Institute for Diversity and Ethics in Sport at the University of Central Florida. The study examined the freshman athletes who entered between 1996 and 2000 from the teams participating in this year's tournament.
