As Loan Servicers Multiply, So Do Problems for Students, College Officials Say

When students or recent graduates come to talk with Anthony M. Sozzo about repaying their federal loans, he sometimes struggles with what to tell them.
It's not that Mr. Sozzo, an associate dean for student affairs at New York Medical College, is new to the subject. In fact, he's a 37-year veteran of financial-aid counseling, and he chairs the committee on graduate-student issues at the National Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators.
