More Civility in Publishing

To the Editor:

Jennifer Howard writes about a new campaign called Prism — the Partnership for Research Integrity in Science & Medicine — from the Association of American Publishers (Hot Type, The Chronicle, September 21). The campaign largely consists of a Web site calling for scholars to write their representatives in Congress to oppose mandatory posting of scholarly articles resulting from federal research grants.
