More Campuses Are Affected as Incidents Worry Police and Administrators

One college was closed this morning and another was briefly locked down as administrators and police officials responded to worrisome incidents.

Kalamazoo Valley Community College, in Kalamazoo, Mich., was closed until Sunday after the state police alerted college officials about “a very specific threat,” according to the online Michigan Newslog and the Associated Press.

The AP also reported that Point Park University, in Pittsburgh, was partially locked down for less than an hour after a person was shot and wounded on a street a block from the campus.

In addition, WHIO TV in Dayton, Ohio, reported that two campuses in nearby Lima were closed on Wednesday afternoon by a bomb threat. Ohio State University at Lima and Rhodes State College, which share the telephone switchboard that received the threat, were evacuated beginning about 4 p.m. Both reopened this morning.
