Montana State U. Researcher Uncovers Campsite Used by Lewis and Clark

Nearly 200 years after Meriwether Lewis and William Clark ventured westward, an archaeologist on the campus of Montana State University here has uncovered one spot where the two explorers once set up camp.

It's the first time anyone has verified the exact location of one of the explorers' campsites.

Kenneth W. Karsmizki, associate curator of historical archaeology at the university's Museum of the Rockies, announced in September
