FOR-PROFIT TROUBLES: Decker College, a for-profit institution based in Louisville, Ky., has shut down most of its campuses and laid off many of its employees without paying them for work they had already done. William F. Weld, a Republican gubernatorial contender in New York, has been helping to run the college, and his investment firm, Leeds Weld & Company, owns a minority interest in Decker.
