It's all very well for Henry I. Miller to blithely write of ... "extremism" in his description of the opposition to genetically modified agricultural produce and the public's wariness about biotechnology in general ("Combating Pathological Opposition to Gene Splicing," Opinion, February 4). I am surprised at it, however, since he can hardly be unaware of the scientific community's less-than-sterling record with regard to such enterprises as
