Missouri Court Upholds Law on Divorced Parents and College Costs
Missouri's Supreme Court ruled last week that the state does not discriminate against divorced parents by holding them legally responsible for their children's college expenses, even though it lets married parents off the hook.
In a unanimous decision, the court upheld a 20-year-old Missouri law that says divorced parents may be ordered by state courts to pay their children's educational expenses until the children graduate from college or turn 22.
