Mississippi May Restrict Online Diploma Mills
Mississippi higher-education officials, alarmed that online diploma mills may be setting up shop in their state, have asked the Legislature to grant them more authority to shut down the phony institutions.
William E. McHenry, assistant commissioner for academic affairs for the Mississippi Board of Trustees of State Institutions of Higher Learning, says some diploma mills that have been kicked out of other states see Mississippi as fertile ground for setting up operations.
