Mississippi College Mum on Plans for Gifts From Convicted WorldCom Chief
No givebacks?
Maybe not at Mississippi College, the recipient of $36.5-million in donations from Bernard J. Ebbers, the former chief executive officer of WorldCom Inc. Mr. Ebbers was convicted in March of directing an $11-billion accounting fraud that triggered the largest bankruptcy in U.S. history.
The money that Mr. Ebbers used for many of his personal expenditures and for donations he gave to the college -- his alma mater -- came from $408-million worth of loans
