Mississippi Supreme Court Says College Can Cut Ties With Alumnae Group
The Mississippi Supreme Court ruled on Thursday that Claudia A. Limbert, president of Mississippi University for Women, acted within her authority when she cut ties with an alumni group that had been in conflict with the university.
The ruling reversed a lower court's decision in September 2007 that had ordered the university to maintain its ties with the Alumnae Association and rescind any agreement with a new alumni organization created in its place (
