Minority Freshman Admissions Rebound at U. of California
Freshman admissions of black, Hispanic, and American Indian applicants to the University of California have nearly rebounded to 1997 levels, the last year racial preferences were used in the admissions process.
But although the total number of those applicants admitted to the system's eight campuses is just 27 shy of the 1997 mark, the flagship campus, at Berkeley, lags far behind. According to statistics
