Minnesota University Plans More Staff Cutbacks
Officials of the University of St. Thomas announced a second set of staff layoffs last month, in a continuing effort to reduce its budget by $9-million.
The Minnesota university will eliminate 91 staff positions, including administrative assistants and support-staff members in technology. As many as 51 people will be laid off, with the rest of the reduction coming through retirements, said Douglas E. Hennes, a St. Thomas spokesman. Laid-off employees can apply for 33 open positions.
