Minnesota President Will Head University of Texas System

Mark G. Yudof, president of the University of Minnesota, will be the next chancellor of the 15-campus University of Texas System, the system's Board of Regents announced last month. Mr. Yudof -- who spent 25 years on Texas's Austin campus as a professor, law-school dean, and provost -- turned down the position just two years ago, citing loyalty to his duties in Minnesota.

Mr. Yudof was unanimously named as the only finalist in the search to replace R.D. Burck, who will retire
