Minnesota Court Rules in an Online-Libel Case
A decision in July by the Minnesota Supreme Court could influence libel cases involving chat rooms, newsgroups, and e-mail discussion lists. The court ruled that an Alabama scholar could not collect on a libel ruling from a court in her state against a Minnesota scholar who had criticized her in an online newsgroup.
