Minn. Graduate Students Reject Unionization
After a two-year organizing effort by an association seeking collective-bargaining rights, graduate students at the University of Minnesota have voted not to unionize.
Had the union been organized, it would have been the largest bargaining unit of graduate students in the country. Graduate students and teaching assistants have successfully formed such units at at least five other American universities, and are pressing for representation at several others.
