Military Recruiting Goes to Court
Law Professors and Students File Multiple Lawsuits Seeking to Uphold Antidiscrimination Policies
For nearly a decade, the nation's law schools and the U.S. Department of Defense have clashed over the military's efforts to recruit law students.
The law schools say the military is unwelcome on their campuses because it discriminates against gay and lesbian people in hiring and personnel matters. Military officials and the Defense Department counter that their hiring practices are legal and should not prohibit them from participating in law-school career fairs and other employment
