Midwestern Group Urges Congress Not to Increase Oversight of Colleges
A group that includes state legislators, aides to governors, and higher-education leaders in the Midwest is urging Congress to think twice before increasing the federal government's oversight of colleges.
Last month the Midwestern Higher Education Compact approved a resolution to Congress opposing some of the proposals being considered for the reauthorization of the Higher Education Act, the law that governs most federal student-aid programs.
