Michigan's Smaller Public Universities Unite to Fight Its Big 3
A decision by Michigan's governor to treat the state's three largest public universities differently from others in her proposed budget for the coming fiscal year has caused such a rift among the institutions that several have formed their own lobbying coalition.
The Education Alliance for Michigan, composed of seven regional public universities, brought several of its member institutions' presidents to the state capital last week to argue against Gov. Jennifer M. Granholm's proposal
