Michigan Colleges Worry About Push to Outlaw Partner Benefits, Fearing Effects on Hiring
Legislation moving through the Michigan Legislature would prohibit public colleges, among other state entities, from offering health and other benefits to domestic partners of employees, a change that Michigan faculty and college administrators say would jeopardize the universities' ability to hire top professors.
