Miami-Dade Faculty Approves First Contract
One of the most bitter union fights in academe has drawn to a close. On January 31, after two fraught years at the bargaining table, professors at Miami-Dade Community College approved their first contract.
Full-time professors ratified the contract by a vote of 381 to 88, said Mark Richard, president of the United Faculty of Miami-Dade College, an affiliate of the American Federation of Teachers.
