Mega-Deal Completed in Textbook Publishing
Reed Elsevier completed its acquisition this month of Harcourt General, one day after the mega-publishing deal received a green light from British antitrust authorities. Then, as planned, Reed Elsevier sold Harcourt's higher-education publishing and several other divisions to the Thomson Corporation.
